A techie by background, Oliver holds a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering with Management. After an earlier career in website design and development, Oliver spent 10 years with a leading midlands digital agency building and running the business. More recently, Oliver has developed a specialism in data and records management, data protection and GDPR legislation.
A practitioner of strategic digital thinking Oliver is at his best when thrown into the detail of a complex situation then using data and insight to develop strategic insights that are understandable and believable and which management teams can action and move forward with confidence.
Oliver’s experience is in the tech, healthcare and charity sectors where he has worked on improving the design of websites and then automating the marketing, CRM and business systems behind it. He has also advised private and public sector clients on data protection, privacy and compliance. With a background in marketing communications, he knows the power and importance of storytelling to change behaviour and build culture.
Technologies with which Oliver has strong expertise include Linux, MySQL, Mongo, Node.js and Varnish. He has also worked with applications built using Drupal, Ruby, Laravel and Python and is familiar with SharePoint and other collaboration technologies.
